Summary

The journey to 100 friends begins with a single conversation。

Socially anxious high school student Shoko Komi’s greatest dream is to make some friends, but everyone at school mistakes her crippling social anxiety for cool reserve! With the whole student body keeping their distance and Komi unable to utter a single word, friendship might be forever beyond her reach。

Najimi’s sudden declaration of a Christmas Eve party at Komi’s house sends the friends into a flurry of last-minute gift shopping and Komi into a fit of worrying。 But when her friends all turn up with good cheer and a giant stuffed animal for her, it turns out Najimi wasn’t just being impulsive—there’s a special surprise for Komi too!

Last volume was Thanksgiving, so this one is Christmas and New Year's。 The catalyst for action is always the energetic (manic?) Najime, who announces a Christmas party AT Komi's house, which also happens to coincide with Komi's birthday! But for someone with social anxiety disorder, to host a group at her house! Yikes! So she has to buy a gift, and requires her (also quiet, shy) brother to go along to the mall, which is, as with her quiet Dad, a comical and sweet occasion。 How to accomplish life Last volume was Thanksgiving, so this one is Christmas and New Year's。 The catalyst for action is always the energetic (manic?) Excellent。 It’s Christmas and birthday time! Komi is just adorably beautiful soul。 I love her awkwardness。 This volume made me smile often (if the smile actually left my face)!

So I liked this but also it really wasn't as fun as the other volumes have been。 It was just a lot of little scenes but no development towards Komi's friendships。 So I liked this but also it really wasn't as fun as the other volumes have been。 It was just a lot of little scenes but no development towards Komi's friendships。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 This is possibly my favorite volume so far。 It’s just so perfect that I’m reading this volume in the middle of winter so all the right atmospheric touches are there。 Every situation was so entertaining and we got to see more of Komi’s mom, dad, little brother, and grandma。 I loved how the Christmas party came and went and the last chapter。 Oh my gosh! Komi is so smitten she held Tadano’s germ-y hand。 It was so cute!

Can one join in on the Christmas fun with a communication disorder? Yes, you can。 Komi and her friends spend the holiday together with snowball fights, annual shrine visits, and gift exchanges。 A merry little tome。

Volume seven depicts winter perfectly。 Christmas, New Year's, and the first shrine visit of the year are all highlights of the season。 Komi reveals she was born around the winter solstice, perhaps that is why she may appear frigid serene, but that is just her communication disorder, she actually wants to spread the cheer。Another excellent volume, I always look forward to the release oi a new one。 Volume seven depicts winter perfectly。 Christmas, New Year's, and the first shrine visit of the year are all highlights of the season。 Komi reveals she was born around the winter solstice, perhaps that is why she may appear frigid serene, but that is just her communication disorder, she actually wants to spread the cheer。Another excellent volume, I always look forward to the release oi a new one。 。。。more

4 starsIf you’re just tuning in to Komi Can’t Communicate, this gist is pretty simple。 Komi is shy。 Like REALLY shy。 But because of her beauty, her intense social anxiety is taken as elegant aloofness making her popular in theory but, in reality, she has no friends。 Then she meets Tadano, a boy in her class, who takes the time to talk to her and suddenly he is making a pact to get Komi 100 friends。 In this particular volume, it’s the holiday season and it’s Komi’s first time experiencing it with 4 starsIf you’re just tuning in to Komi Can’t Communicate, this gist is pretty simple。 Komi is shy。 Like REALLY shy。 But because of her beauty, her intense social anxiety is taken as elegant aloofness making her popular in theory but, in reality, she has no friends。 Then she meets Tadano, a boy in her class, who takes the time to talk to her and suddenly he is making a pact to get Komi 100 friends。 In this particular volume, it’s the holiday season and it’s Komi’s first time experiencing it with actual friends。 The thing is I thought I would be tired of pretty much the same thing happening in every volume by now, but guess what? I’m not! Komi and Tadano’s blossoming relationship is so cute to watch。 The drawings aren't bad either。 I love the details on Komi to show her moods making up for her lack of dialogue。 - Miss Krystal 。。。more

The series started off really funny but now it just has cute scenes with a few funny lines。 Going to continue though since it’s not complicated

The calendar year draws to a close and it seems Najimi is exerting every ounce of strength to gather everyone together for a raucous party on nearly every day of winter break。 From crash-landing at Komi's house for a frolic in the snow to an afternoon at the shrine pulling for good fortune in the months to come, the gang generally takes it easy in this volume。One may find it a slight disappointment, considering how much potential there was for Komi and Tadano to genuinely hit it off at the close The calendar year draws to a close and it seems Najimi is exerting every ounce of strength to gather everyone together for a raucous party on nearly every day of winter break。 From crash-landing at Komi's house for a frolic in the snow to an afternoon at the shrine pulling for good fortune in the months to come, the gang generally takes it easy in this volume。One may find it a slight disappointment, considering how much potential there was for Komi and Tadano to genuinely hit it off at the close of the previous volume。 Alas, in KOMI CAN'T COMMUNICATE #7, it's business as usual。 The only real saving grace of this failure to meet expectations is that Najimi and Tadano's sister, Hitomi, are now openly and actively conniving to ensure Mr。 Average gets the girl。 For example, Tadano suggests phoning Komi a second time, when making calls to the gang to visit the shrine, since the quiet girl didn't pick up when Najimi first pinged her。 Hitomi and Najimi respond to Tadano's suggestion with a luxurious: "Ohhhhh?"Komi and Tadano rarely have any time together, although the two do go ice-skating at one point。 It stands to reason that if readers are eager for something to happen among the main cast of characters, they will surely abandon the manga soon if they haven't done so already。 The author often hints at the prospect of the secondary characters getting involved with one another (Makeru, the hypercompetitive girl, has her own fanclub), but as with everything else, it's slow-going。 Things mostly stay same。KOMI CAN'T COMMUNICATE #7 includes a few friendly gems, such as another visit to Komi's grandmother Yuiko's place, but in general, little new or interesting occurs。 。。。more

This continues to deliver heart warming stories volume to volume。 I enjoy the slow growth of the friendships, and seeing the interactions of the teenagers。 Its innocence is relatable and makes me smile。

Komi continues to be a gentle, oh-so-adorable, and delightful bit of fluff。 It's winter, so this time around we have Christmas shopping and a party, New Year's shrine visits and a family gathering, snowman building and snowball fights, and ice skating。 Komi continues to be a gentle, oh-so-adorable, and delightful bit of fluff。 It's winter, so this time around we have Christmas shopping and a party, New Year's shrine visits and a family gathering, snowman building and snowball fights, and ice skating。 。。。more

I loved this volume so much, I might just be my favorite so far! Watching the present picking then the party not to mention the last chapter with tadano being sick was just so precious!

Even though it's winter in this volume, I appreciated reading it and had a blast! The same quirky gang get into the same quirky shenanigans, but it's still fun to see what everyone's doing and how Komi reacts to each situation。Najimi was easily the funniest character in this volume。 Her calling everyone for a shrine visit was absolute gold, I'm amazed nobody tried to kill her thanks to her poor timing。 Can I just say, though, that I totally understand why she's so popular? I know the running gag of her being friends with everyone has been going on since the first volume, but I truly get why that's the case。 She's a ton of fun and enthusiastic, but also knows when to put on the brakes and is respectful of other people's limits。 She may not be the most complex character, but she's tons of fun!Komi is as adorable as ever in this volume and her interactions with Tadano are adorable as well。 I loved the final chapter, it was so damn sweet and pure! It was also nice seeing more of Katai's growing friendship with Tadano (and possibly more??)。 Oh, and the snowman chapter was great。 I love manga chapters where there aren't any words, just gestures and pictures in dialogue bubbles。 Weirdly specific, I know, but it's true。I have no idea what to expect next, but that's kind of what I like about this series。 It's so open in terms of plot structure that each volume can be about anything and it would still work。 All I know is I'm looking forward to the next volume and whatever it has in store! 。。。more

2020 Read #473I kinda wish this volume had been released in the US in winter because all the chapters have that wintery feel to them, but it was still enjoyable。 My only gripe is that out of the chapters this volume only the last, chapter 99, was a real stand-out to me。

I really love this manga! Or, how to win at being the "King"I 1st want to say that I LOVE that one of the main characters is trans, AND that neither the author, nor other characters, make a scene about, nor pander to it。 This manga shows that trans people, even teens, can be loved, and ARE loved! There's a few more hints that Komi & Tadano have feelings for each other, especially on Komi's side。 She's gorgeous, which throws off "Average Joe" Tadano, who doesn't realize that Komi ADORES him。 Plus I really love this manga!
